This honing guide holds and adjusts the angle at which the chisel edge touches the sharpening stone so that the entire blade can be sharpened evenly. Makes sharpening easier.
Get the standard sharpening angle by adjusting the distance between the top of the chisel and the honing guide: blade 2.9 inches/73mm to get 25°, chisel 2.4 inches/60mm; blade at 2.2 inches/55mm to get 30°, chisel 1.8 inches/46mm.
